The study entitled Grammatical Complexity in a Child’s Utterances aimed to describe the grammatical complexity in a child’s utterances. Qualitative approach was employed in this research. The research subject chosen was a child in a multicultural family. Thus, the design preferred was a single case study research design, with a multicultural family (Sunda-Padang) as the unit under study. The grammatical complexity referred to in this study is the number of grammatical constructions contained in the utterances of children aged 5 years 7 months. Grammatical complexity is categorized into two, namely morphological complexity and syntactic complexity. The results showed the grammatical complexity of the child's utterances ranging from the simplest to the most complex.
