Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Materi Bercerita dengan Alat Peraga melalui Penggunaan Media Boneka

Abstract

This study was intended to improve students' speaking skills with literary works. By means of puppets, students are motivated to present their work confidently as a form of creativity. The research was carried out through classroom action research procedures which consisted of two learning cycles. Each learning cycle consists of three steps, namely planning, implementation, and reflection. As a result, SMPN 1 Baleendah students’ speaking skills with literary works increased by 6.49%. In the first cycle, the average score of students performing storytelling with teaching aids was 77, and in the second cycle, the average score was 82. The students’ learning outcomes in the first cycle were 51.1% while that in the second cycle was 27.1%. The average score in the first cycle’s posttest was 64.9 while that in the second cycle was 86.1. The average score in the first cycle’s pretest was 46.4, but that in the second cycle was 69.6. Further, 84.09% the students stated that they like learning storytelling with properties and as many as 88.64% of the students liked puppets.
